The Humane AI Pin, unveiled globally on November 9, 2023, represents a significant advancement in wearable technology. This device is unique as it's a screenless smartphone that can be pinned to clothing using magnets or a latch.

It projects smartphone apps and functionalities onto the user's palm and other surfaces through its cameras and sensors. This wearable device is also equipped with voice recognition and functions as a smart assistant, capable of performing tasks and answering questions with the help of OpenAI's ChatGPT and other software.

It supports various smartphone functions like making calls, sending texts, and scheduling appointments purely through voice commands.

The AI Pin operates independently, without needing to connect to another smartphone or projector. It relies heavily on gestures for navigation and control. For example, users can project an app onto their hand and use gestures like tilting or pinching to interact with it.

It can even understand and convey different tones in messages, and offers a Catch Me Up feature that acts as a personal assistant by keeping track of activities and reminders.

Design-wise, the Humane AI Pin is reminiscent of Apple's iPhone, with an anodized aluminum housing available in white, silver, and black. The design is influenced by the experience of its co-founders, Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, both former Apple employees.
